Nice to meet you!
Hi, it‘s me. Susanne. So nice to have you in my world. You probably came here because I‘m offering Yoga. That‘s great. Yoga is my refuge, my rescue, my ever changing challenge possibility, my calm, my heart, my space.
And then there‘s all the other stuff I‘m passionate about.
I have a love-hate relationship to tech. Am holding a Master‘s degree in Computer Engineering. Basically applying the frustration resilience I‘ve learned in school to build WordPress websites for me and others.
More than that I‘m a better world enthusiast. For a living, I‘m an educator in museums and memorial sites regarding Nazi Germany history. Maybe this goes back to my family history. I always think that‘s the average German family story: Great grandparents of mine have been jailed for opposing the system. And on the other side of the family, a great grandfather has been jailed afterwards for having been part of it. These questions, how was this possible?, what would have been needed to prevent that?, would I have been able to step up?, are somehow part of my DNA.
“No one has
the right to obey.”
Hannah Arendt
My favourite quote is by Hannah Arendt: No one has the right to obey. We need to question authorities. Especially those that don‘t like to be questioned. Naturally, this leads into a life of nonconformity. I‘m glad I don‘t need to walk this path alone. Along the way, I‘ve learned a thing or two about self organized collaboration, about the difficulties of grass roots organization, and about the necessity of people being able to argue without hurting or being hurt.
“If I can’t dance it’s not my revolution.”
Emma Goldman
My second favourite quote is by Emma Goldman: If I can‘t dance, it‘s not my revolution. I know, everybody thinks Germans aren‘t funny. But I actually hope I am. There‘s pain and suffering and frustration. And so many things are easier to bear with a good grain of irony. Sarcasm, if need be. Or just that smile and giggle from joking around.
I was born in eastern Germany. I was ten years old when the wall fell. Nobody asked me my opinion that time. But I‘ve witnessed, political systems can change. Can be changed. It‘s on us to design the world we want to live in. You in?
